Before working with Nicole I was struggling with a self-imposed pressure to maintain the same weight from my early 20s. I had this number on the scales I was trying to be, sometimes I would be under, sometimes over (more recently over) and it was becoming an obsession.
I had got into the habit of tracking calories and exercise with an app, which was completely taking the joy away from eating.
However, since doing the Body Freedom group programme I have started listening to my body. I am not trying to override my body's hunger and satiety signals in pursuit of a specific number on the scales. I feel and listen to my body's needs and act on that.
The group programme was a mix of 1:1s, group coaching and training sessions.
It was my first experience of group coaching and I didn't really know how I would feel about it. However, it was the highlight of the programme for me! It was so good to listen to others with similar struggles and even completely different struggles relating to body image. Often these dialogues happen only in our own heads so to hear others vocalise feelings and thoughts about this was really validating.
1:1s are great for a deep dive into any specific issues personal to you and further explore anything that comes up in group coaching. Nicole has a lovely way of getting to the root of the issue and then guiding you through a mindset shift.
The training "theory" sessions, combined with a recommended book were really helpful to understand the science and psychology behind body size and image.
Hand on heart, I am so grateful for Nicole's knowledge and guidance through this programme and 100% recommend this if you'd like to heal or strengthen your own body image.
